FAQ
Frequently asked
The questions we are asked most about hours, booking, the menu and language support.
Where is Doma Insadong?
6-1 Insadong 8-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul. This Korean restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Anguk Station (Line 3) Exit 6 and about 7 minutes from Jonggak Station (Line 1) Exit 3. Turn into the alley beside the Taeseonggwan Chinese restaurant and look for the yellow “도마” sign under the folk-painting tigers.
What are your opening hours?
Open daily 11:30–21:00, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00. Last order is 14:50 for lunch and 20:20 for dinner. We do not take orders during the break, so please plan your visit around it.
Can I make a reservation?
Yes. Phone (+82 2-733-9376) and Naver booking are both available on weekdays and weekends, for every service hour. Please note that CatchTable handles remote waitlisting only, not reservations.
Do you have menus in other languages?
Yes — printed menus in Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese are on every table. Each dish lists its ingredients and cooking method, which makes ordering straightforward even on a first visit to a Korean restaurant.
What should I order?
The soybean paste stew we have made for twenty years, which is included with every sotbap set and charcoal-grilled set. For a first visit, the short-rib sotbap set (₩25,000) or the beef and Jeju radish sotbap set (₩17,000) are good places to start. For a group, try the meat set (₩56,000) or the black pork shabu-shabu (₩24,000).
Do you have a vegetarian option?
The Jeongseon gondre and lotus-root sotbap set (₩21,000) has a vegetarian option — please ask a member of staff when ordering and we will go through it with you. Note that the standard set comes with the soybean paste stew, which contains beef.
Is there parking?
We do not have a private car park. Parts of Insadong are pedestrian-only, so the subway or a nearby public car park is easiest — we are about a 5-minute walk from Anguk Station Exit 6.
Do you offer takeaway or delivery?
Takeaway is available alongside dining in. Delivery and which dishes are available for it can change, so please call +82 2-733-9376 to check.
What is nearby?
Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, Bukchon, Jogyesa Temple and Cheonggyecheon are all within walking distance. Many guests come for a meal after browsing the craft shops and tea houses along Insadong street.
Has the restaurant been on television?
Yes. The black pork shabu-shabu was featured on Matissneun Nyeoseokdeul, the soybean paste stew and short-rib sotbap set on MBC Live Today, and the stew sets together with our three sotbap on SBS Live Today.
